University of Bridgeport Magazine Feature - Skins
Skins was the debut issue of the University of Bridgeport’s magazine and became an award-winning publication, featured in Communication Arts Exhibit, Graphic Design USA, Connecticut Creatives, and added to the University’s Permanent Collection.
I was tasked with showcasing “skins” and interpreting how identity, culture, and beauty live on the surface of the body. My feature focused on African tribes that use face painting as a form of storytelling and expression. I led the creative direction, coordinated the photoshoot, designed and applied the face painting, photographed the models, and completed all editing.
I also designed the layout and typography system, including the table of contents, using bold type and expressive structure to match the strength of the imagery. The final piece became a central highlight of this nationally recognized issue.
